Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support wastewater treatment projects in Houston, TX. This role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing bid opportunities, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil construction estimating, specifically in wastewater treatment infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for wastewater treatment projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Analyze construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost efficiency.
- Research market trends, subcontractor pricing, and material cost to provide competitive estimates.
- Identify and assess potential project risks that could impact budget and timeline.
- Assist in proposal development, bid submissions, and contract negotiations.
- Maintain cost databases and estimating software tools for accurate projections.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on **wastewater treatment projects.
- Must be Div 3 – Concrete Estimator, Div 5 – structural steel estimator, Div 22 – Plumbing / process piping estimator, Div 26 – Electrical estimator, or Div 31 – Site / Civil estimator
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering, environmental regulations, and project cost structures.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoBid, Sage Estimating, or similar tools).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to ensure precise cost calculations.
- Ability to work under deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience working with public works projects and government contracts.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and industry compliance standards.
