Assistant Superintendent – Los Angeles
We’re seeking a seasoned Assistant Superintendent to join a growing team in Los Angeles, overseeing field operations for medium- to large-scale commercial construction projects.
Assistant Superintendent will support on-site project execution from groundbreaking through final punch list. This role partners closely with the Project Manager and senior site leadership, ensuring smooth coordination among trades, adherence to timelines, and jobsite safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with field crews and subcontractors to manage daily site activities
- Enforce and champion OSHA-compliant safety practices, conduct site inspections, and hold toolbox talks
- Support the development and monitoring of look-ahead schedules and logistics plans
- Lead weekly site coordination meetings and subcontractor huddles
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control protocols to maintain high construction standards
- Track progress and labor units, prepare daily field reports, and communicate site updates
- Coordinate inspections, materials delivery, and issue resolution with project teams
Preferred Background
- 5+ years of construction experience in field operations, with exposure across trades
- Strong familiarity with commercial project types including healthcare porjects
- Effective communicator and team motivator with experience managing subcontractor crews
- Working knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office, and scheduling platforms like Primavera P6 is a plus
- Hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail, organization, and site optimization
