Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale heavy civil construction projects across Georgia. This role is ideal for a candidate with deep knowledge of DOT standards, roadway and bridge construction, and a proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects, including roadways, highways, bridges, and associated infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to meet or exceed project milestones and financial goals.
- Oversee subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Lead and mentor project engineers, superintendents, and support staff to ensure high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Conduct risk assessments, issue resolution, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
- Participate in estimating and preconstruction efforts when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction with at least 3 years in a senior project management role.
- Proven experience managing Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) or similar DOT projects.
- Strong understanding of DOT specs, scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project), and construction management tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred; other industry safety certifications a plus.
