Job Description

Position Duration: 10/17/2016 - 12/30/2016

Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ

Hourly Rate: $18/hr

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a large company, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or related fields
  • Proficiency in PC-based software programs such as Lotus Notes, SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Availability to work 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and control accounts and records in accordance with GAAP
  • Interpret and apply rules and regulations from accounting and regulatory agencies (e.g., FASB, SEC)
  • Compile, analyze, and record financial information and transactions
  • Review and verify accounting data accuracy
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and other disclosures
  • Conduct monthly reviews of cost centers, including budget checks and accruals
  • Coordinate with finance and business units on financial practices and data
  • Run and reconcile monthly reports, prepare adjustments, and consolidate data
  • Reconcile expenses, manage POs, and perform ad hoc analyses
  • Prepare SEC filings and regulatory reports as required
  • Evaluate profitability and efficiency across divisions and products

Skills Required:

  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and databases, including MS Excel with macros
  • Knowledge of industry-specific accounting rules and regulations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Lotus Notes and SAP
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
