Technical Account Manager Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Planning
- Provide expert guidance on IT architecture, cybersecurity strategy, cloud adoption, and infrastructure modernization.
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive technology roadmaps in collaboration with client stakeholders.
- Guide decisions affecting IT architecture, security posture, and tool adoption.
- Facilitate annual and quarterly strategic IT planning meetings.
- Review progress and adjust technology initiatives accordingly.
- Support business development efforts by participating in pre-sales engagements, offering technical validation and insight during the sales cycle.
- Evaluate client environments to propose tailored architecture and design solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to scope projects effectively.
- Support implementation strategies and validate outcomes post-project.
- Identify opportunities to optimize client IT systems.
- Design scalable, secure technology solutions in coordination with project teams.
- Provide strategic oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned clients.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with service and support teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Establish strong and enduring relationships with IT leaders and executive sponsors.
- Inform client stakeholders on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Sales team to develop tailored technology recommendations.
- Conduct technical discoveries to assess client environments and surface critical issues and opportunities.
- Prepare scoping documentation and solution proposals using direct findings and technical requirements.
- Previous work experience in Technical Consulting, Systems Architecture, or Solution Engineering. Experience in an IT services organization, preferably a Managed Services Provider
- Strong understanding of Microsoft environments, cloud infrastructure, and security practices.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and business audiences.
- Adept in developing IT roadmaps and across multiple clients concurrently.
- Conduct strategic business reviews with clients, aligning business needs and capabilities.
- Thrive in a team environment and operating with a "We over me" mentality.
- Familiarity with PSA and CRM systems (e.g., ConnectWise, Halo, Salesforce)
- Experience utilizing AI resources to improve efficiency and accuracy with daily tasks.
- Relevant education and/or certifications a plus.
