The Benefits and Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for administration of YDG benefit plans, and leading wellness program initiatives to ensure positive employee experience and organizational compliance. This role will play a key role in supporting employee well-being, driving engagement, and helping YDG attract and retain top talent through meaningful, data-informed programs.
- Manage all aspects of employee benefits and wellness initiatives to ensure our offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our company culture and business goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs
- Oversee the administration of leaves of absence programs (FMLA, STD, etc.)
- Serve as the main point of contact for benefits vendors, brokers, and carriers
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, including planning, communications, system updates, and employee education
- Lead the development, promotion, and administration of the company's wellness initiatives
- Partner with vendors to deliver health screenings, wellness offerings, EAP awareness, and educational sessions
- Analyze wellness program effectiveness through participation and feedback metrics
- Promote wellness programs through communications, events, and employee engagement
- Maintain wellness materials and distribute resources across locations
- Manage employee inquiries and resolve escalated benefits issues
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA and applicable wage and hour laws and reporting requirements
- Partner with HRIS to ensure accurate benefits data and reporting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in benefits with experience managing wellness programs preferred
- Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to benefits and compensation (ACA, ERISA, FLSA, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and payroll systems and HRIS platforms (Paylocity a plus)
- Understanding of benefits laws and payroll processes
- Experience working with benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Excel
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Familiarity with a wide range of state/province employment laws, with concentrations on Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Ontario, Canada.
