Ironclad Defense Works Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, motivatedAccounting Specialist to join our growing team inNorfolk, Virginia . As a leader in defense services and solutions, Ironclad Defense Works supports a variety of critical projects for government and industry partners. Were looking for someone ready to bring precision and dedication to our accounting operations.
Position Overview:
TheAccounting Specialist will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, and supporting financial reporting processes (accrual accounting). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and submit invoices to government and commercial clients
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with DCAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers on contract billing and budget tracking
  • Provide support during audits and financial reviews
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (government contracting experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • U.S. Citizenship required (due to the nature of our work)
