People Architects is excited to recruit for a mainly remote Part-Time Bookkeeper .
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll processing, billing, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate is fluent in QuickBooks , comfortable working with complex payroll scenarios, and experienced in creating clear, accurate reporting for leadership.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys refining financial processes, and can be trusted to work independently with high accuracy and discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile all financial transactions using QuickBooks
- Process semi-monthly payroll, including variable hours and multiple employee types
- Manage billing cycles and generate accurate, timely invoices for clients
- Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Reconcile checking, credit card, and loan accounts on a regular basis
- Work with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reports
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll and tax regulations
- Prepare documentation for CPA and provide context or clarification as needed
- Suggest process improvements to increase financial accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of bookkeeping experience, including at least 2 years with QuickBooks
- Experience processing payroll for multiple employee types (e.g., salaried, hourly, temporary staff)
- Strong understanding of billing workflows and accounts receivable management
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Prior experience in a consulting or service-based business is a plus
- Strong communication skills, especially in remote work settings
