The normal duties for this position can be found in the job description for the Senior Accountant. They are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Any combination demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, preferably in the governmental accounting field.
License/Certificate Requirements: CPA is preferred, but not required.
Equivalency Provision : A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or completion of an MBA or Masters in a closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two years of the professional accounting experience requirement.
This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the same or lower classifications.
