Shields Health has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist to work Full-Time (Three scanning days with two admin days ) at our facility located in Hyannis, MA .

Purpose and Scope:

In keeping with Shields Health's commitment to excellence, the Chief MRI Technologist will be responsible for the location and employees, ensuring a professional, caring atmosphere is provided to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked clinical environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
  • Coordinate notification, reporting, and ensure smooth functioning of equipment.
  • Oversee Technologist's activities.
  • Plan, direct, and organize Technologist activities and schedules, including implementation of protocols.
  • Be available for emergency consultation if problems arise.
  • Promote a harmonious and professional working relationship within the Center, organization, and with referral sources.
Patient Care
  • Deliver patient care responsibly.
  • Initiate, monitor, and terminate procedures.
  • Assist in post-treatment cleanup.
  • Ensure patients are informed about policies and address inquiries or ensure follow-up by qualified personnel.
  • Administer contrast when necessary.
Equipment
  • Possess thorough knowledge of current equipment and its effects.
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules and document them.
  • Notify appropriate parties of equipment malfunctions and secure repairs or additional equipment.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of medical and radiographic equipment.
Evaluation of Equipment and Education
  • Plan and teach proper equipment cleaning.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new procedural techniques and protocols.
  • Evaluate and recommend new and existing equipment performance.
  • Communicate regularly with Medical Director and COO.
  • Report on Technologists' technical competence.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training.
  • Promote team recognition and continuous professional development.
Educational Requirements:
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology or Therapy Program; ARRT certification; MRI certification required.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years MRI experience with maintenance training.
  • Ability to detect and correct equipment malfunctions or contact repair resources.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged sitting and computer use.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues.
  • Lift and push at least 25 pounds.
Internal/External Requirements:

Extensive interaction within the organization and with external contacts is required.
