Accountant / Senior Accountant - Growing Company with PE Upside!

We're a leading Midwest-based recruiting firm partnering with a thriving, privately-held company to find a talented Accountant to join their finance team. The company is a dominant player in the Central Indiana market with ambitious growth plans. This role offers potential for Private Equity (PE) investment, meaning significant growth, stability, and a chance to be part of a company poised for substantial future value creation.

You'll be joining a close-knit and supportive finance team located on the north side of Indianapolis. The company operates as a holding company for six distinct divisions, each with its own P&L, providing a rich and diverse accounting experience. Given the nature of their business, a significant portion of their accounting is job cost-based . You'll gain exposure to % completion accounting and manage a high volume of fixed assets due to their extensive owned and leased equipment.

As an Accountant (or Senior Accountant), you'll be instrumental in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and contributing to the financial health of the company. Your responsibilities will include preparing and posting journal entries, performing reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end closings. A key part of the role is maintaining and tracking fixed assets and depreciation schedules. You will also manage Construction AIA and Work-in-Progress (WIP) billing processes, and collaborate with division leaders to ensure accurate job costing .

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles. You should have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and 2-3 years of relevant experience , with a preference for backgrounds in a trade industry or corporate accounting. Public accounting experience is also highly valued. Strong experience with fixed assets, payroll, billing, and job costing is required, as is proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Our client offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 - $80,000 , along with a discretionary bonus .
