A porter helps with the movement, cleaning, and basic care of vehicles at the dealership. The duties are usually hands-on and physical.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Moving vehicles around the lot
- Washing and vacuuming vehicles
- Keeping the lot organized and clean
- Retrieving cars for customers and service advisors
- Assisting with vehicle deliveries and test drives
- Supporting service or sales departments with tasks as needed
- Valid driver's license (often with a clean driving record)
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions (a plus)
- Physical stamina and comfort working outdoors in all weather
- Time management and attention to detail
- Basic customer service skills
