Position Summary

This compliance role requires an advanced understanding of all plan types and involves complex interactions with Plan Consultants.

Job Functions, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Complete and support work outlined for Compliance Associate roles.
  • Read and interpret retirement plan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Apply legislation and regulations (IRS, DOL, ERISA) in analysis and interpretation.
  • Support DOL, IRS, and large plan audits.
  • Assist Plan Consultants with operational and compliance issues.
  • Manage plan administration, compliance, and testing for designated business blocks.
  • Monitor progress to meet compliance deadlines.
  • Prepare annual valuation and compliance reports.
  • Draft plan documents, amendments, and legal documents in consultation with Plan Consultants.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews.
  • Handle confidential data securely, ensuring protection against unauthorized access or disclosure.

  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on retirement plan testing experience; 8+ years preferred.
  • Experience with Employer Calculations, 5500s, and relevant documents.
  • Knowledge of cash trust accounting and ERISA in retirement industry.
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, Outlook; excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, task management, and prioritization skills.
  • Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification preferred; QKA and QPA designations are a plus.
  • Experience with plan administration software (Reliues, FT Williams, ASC, Datair) preferred.

The salary range is $70,000 - $100,000, excluding bonuses and benefits. Actual salary depends on various factors. Benefits include 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision, paid time off, etc. More info at careers.ascensus.com/#Benefits.
