Position Overview
The primary objective of this position is to assist cooks in preparing all food items for Food & Beverage Outlets and Banquets, following standardized recipes from Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) or guest checks.
Responsibilities
- Supply assigned workstation with necessary products and equipment for prompt production.
- Prepare menu items using standardized recipes; set up and prepare banquet items per prep lists and BEOs.
- Store all food properly in refrigerated containers with covers, labels, and dates to prevent waste and spoilage.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area at all times.
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred.
- At least one year of line or banquet cook experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Familiarity with classical knife cuts and the Mother Sauces, with ability to prepare at least three.
Licenses and Certifications
- Ability to obtain any required government licenses or certificates.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $21.80 - $27.25/hour.
- Vacation pay and sick/personal time (per Chicago law).
- 401(k) plan with Roth option (employer match up to 4% after one year).
