Fox News is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Associate Producer to join our Washington, D.C., bureau. The Associate Producer will work closely with reporters to craft compelling story pitches, gather video and audio elements, obtain information, and conduct interviews-setting reporters up for success on both next-day and future stories. The ideal candidate is flexible, possesses strong editorial and logistical skills, and has a natural curiosity about the news. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Generates story ideas for D.C. bureau coverage that inform, educate, and inspire the Fox audience
Writes creative, attention-grabbing story pitches on behalf of reporters
Identifies ways to add depth to stories through unusual or compelling elements
Performs extensive research on story topics to ensure all available facts are presented
Flags and addresses questionable points in story pitches written by others
Ensures reporters meet story pitch deadlines
Jumps into the editorial role across various beats when necessary
Helps reporters set up interviews, gather elements, and build out stories for live shots, packages, or political pieces
Live produces reporter hits when the newsroom faces staffing shortages
Enhances overall D.C. Bureau storytelling through strong editorial judgment and collaboration
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Bachelor's degree preferred
At least 2 years of experience in the journalism field
Availability and willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed
Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and shifting editorial priorities
Ability to travel when needed
A valid U.S. driver's license
