Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Line Producer to join the new weekend program The Sunday Briefing, airing Sundays at 11am ET. The Line Producer will be at the forefront of the creative process for a show tackling all facets of the White House beat. You will work hand in hand with the top White House Correspondents in the industry, pitching compelling story ideas, securing top-tier guests, and collaborating with the rest of the show team.
Your role demands exceptional communication skills, adept control room management, impeccable editorial judgment, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, ever-evolving news landscape. The ideal candidate has a deep interest in how the news is covered and is well-read on the day’s national headlines.
You will work a Wednesday through Sunday schedule
A Snapshot of Your Responsibilities
Communicate daily story development to the executive producer
Responsible for story placement, teases, graphics, writing, timing, and all other editorial and production elements
Communicate with on-air talent, reporters and guests in the field, and the director to ensure the program runs as smoothly as possible
Take part in editorial planning
Help book guest segments/studios
Work with video editors putting together compelling preproduced packages
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
5+ years of professional experience in a live television environment
2+ years of professional experience in a live control room lining a show
Natural ability to write effectively and creatively
Thorough knowledge of domestic politics and business news
Strong writing and copyediting skills are a must
Ability to work under intense deadline pressure in a newsroom
Must be able to work and stack an everyday rundown and switch gears and roll with breaking news

Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
