This position offers an exciting opportunity to join Juilliard’s collaborative Communications & Marketing team. The Project Manager will oversee operational and production workflows that support Juilliard’s design, content, and marketing teams as they deliver high-quality creative projects on ambitious timelines. This role supports a wide range of marketing and fundraising goals, including print and digital campaigns for recruitment, live and on-demand performances, fundraising campaigns, special events, and earned revenue initiatives.
Essential duties include collaborating with internal departments to define project needs, budgets, timelines, and approvals as well as continually refining production processes with internal team members and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be a persuasive, quick-thinking, and service-oriented professional who brings creativity and resourcefulness to achieving marketing and design objectives. They will excel at identifying efficient solutions within existing resources, while skillfully driving projects forward and fostering strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
The Communications & Marketing department includes marketing, communications, editorial, digital, design, social media, digital media, retail, and ticketing professionals dedicated to furthering Juilliard’s mission of providing the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted performing artists from around the world.
This position is located on site (not hybrid or remote), and reports directly to the Design Director.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Role Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
Manage and optimize Asana workflows for the entire Communications & Marketing team. Manage design processes from conception to delivery, ensuring projects meet expectations for timeline and budget; provide support to the content, marketing, and design teams so that their time may be fully devoted to creatively executing projects. Create and enforce clear project approval processes, including approval schedules for the marketing, content, and design teams as well as external stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans and timelines, including identifying internal teams involved, assigning deadlines based on project scope, tracking approvals, and monitoring for on-time completion. Act as the primary point of contact in the Communications & Marketing department for managing relationships with institutional stakeholders. In collaboration with directors, develop full-year season project plans for all earned revenue, admissions, and performances campaigns. Maintain overarching view of all department projects over the entire year to ensure workflow efficiency and effective campaign delivery.
Content, Marketing, And Design Responsibilities
Plan and lead meetings related to messaging and creative strategy for large institutional campaigns, including Celebration, Commencement, Fall Festival, the Tuition-Free Campaign, and other initiatives throughout the year. As a key member of the content team, serve as a liaison between content, marketing, and design on creative decisions and messaging. Manage timelines and deliverables for admission and recruitment projects, including the viewbook and other materials that support summer programs and pathways to college admission; earned revenue campaigns, including season brochures, flyers, posters, and digital assets; alumni engagement publications, including the Juilliard Journal; and more. Support design requests from all departments including Development, Office of the President, and artistic areas. Manage mail campaign processes for marketing, membership, alumni relations, special events, admissions (college and preparatory division); coordinate with printers and mail house. Assist in sourcing QR codes, illustrative, and photographic material as needed. Stay up to date on industry best practices and design production standards (this is not a hands-on design role). Lead the annual season planning production process, including brochure approvals, coordination with box office, membership, media production, and artistic divisions teams, and supporting the marketing team in building the online calendar.
Signage Responsibilities
Oversee all physical and digital signage in the Diamond Building, Juilliard’s spaces in the Rose Building, as well as outdoors on the Lincoln Center campus. Manage signage plans for all institutional events from conception to installation, including design approval, vendor coordination, and setup/strike with facilities, IT, and special events. Manage electronic bulletin boards, ensuring channels for external-facing messaging are relevant for public audiences, and that internal-facing messaging is frequently updated for the school community. Manage all signage needs for Juilliard Station including digital, physical, and environmental. This includes managing design process for physical signage and working with external vendors on large environmental signage needs on Broadway and within the space. Build and maintain relationships with vendors and installers, including obtaining estimates and supervising installations.
Administrative Responsibilities
Organize and lead internal and external meetings for major projects and campaigns. Support the invoice process as needed. Assist with coordination of photo shoots, including managing photographers, releases, and participants.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of relevant project management experience Excellent typographic skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Able to work well with employees at all levels and collaborate across teams Flexible, solutions-oriented, and team-focused Commitment to high-quality work and creative excellence
Preferred Background
Experience working in education, performing arts, or nonprofit communications Familiarity with project management software (Asana preferred) Understanding of design and production timelines for both print and digital media Passion for the performing arts and Juilliard’s mission
