We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our team in maintaining and enhancing our enterprise on-premises environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a robust network infrastructure, focusing on both the physical hardware components and the virtualization aspects of our servers. This position will either be in Bethesda, MD or McLean, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide support for all hardware components within the enterprise on-prem enclave including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and other infrastructure-related hardware. Maintain and manage the virtualization infrastructure, predominantly working with virtual servers. Collaborate closely with network engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware within the network enclave. Ensure all hardware operates at optimal performance levels and execute routine maintenance and upgrades. Respond to and resolve hardware-related incidents and issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of operations. Implement and maintain strict security measures to safeguard the hardware against unauthorized access or breaches. Conduct regular hardware evaluations to determine the necessity for upgrades or replacements and manage the deployment of new hardware when required. Design and maintain documentation for system hardware architectures, configurations, and maintenance procedures. Work with vendors and external support teams to resolve hardware issues and coordinate maintenance. Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery procedures for hardware failures. Assist in the development of enterprise-wide hardware procurement strategies, ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of hardware resources. Stay current with emerging hardware technologies and recommend adaptations that can enhance system performance and reliability.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Desired Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree is preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 + of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on enterprise-level on-prem environments. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies and platforms, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar. Experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, SAN/NAS storage, and network components. Familiarity with network security practices and secure enclave configurations. Proficiency in using hardware diagnostic tools and software. Experience with scripting or programming languages is advantageous for automation purposes. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with an ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and departments. Current certifications from entities such as CompTIA (Server+), Cisco (CCNA), or similar are highly regarded.

Clearance:
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
