We are seeking a seasoned Trial Attorney with a
demonstrated track record
in nursing home/elder-abuse/medical-neglect litigation. You will take full ownership of your caseload—from discovery through verdict—and collaborate closely with paralegals, experts, and partners to drive exceptional outcomes. Very little “back-end” or pre-litigation-only work: this role is built for courtroom warriors ready to lead trials. What You'll Do: Oversee all phases of litigation: drafting pleadings, propounding/responding to discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation Develop case theory, coordinate experts (medical, economic, life-care planners), and craft persuasive trial presentations Lead depositions, jury selection, opening/closing statements, and direct/cross examinations Manage in-court logistics and team roles (paralegals, co-counsel, investigators) Serve as primary counsel for nursing home negligence and elder-abuse clients; maintain regular client communication and expectation-setting Provide compassionate guidance through complex medical and legal processes Collaborate with partners on case strategies, settlement negotiations, and appeals Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals; contribute to training materials and firm’s Litigation Academy Participate in community outreach, and develop content (articles, seminars) on elder-neglect topics Represent the firm at professional associations, bar committees, and continuing legal education events What You Will Bring: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active membership in the South Carolina Bar (in good standing) Minimum 3 years of hands-on trial experience in nursing home neglect, elder abuse, or related personal injury practice Proven record of at-trial verdicts or high-value settlements (six- or seven-figure matters preferred) Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, with demonstrated excellence in motion practice and trial presentation Ability to manage a full, trial-ready docket independently
