The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic schools serve more than 40,000 students in 150+ elementary and high schools in Cook and Lake counties. It is one of the largest private school systems in the United States. Its schools have received 96 Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education over the past 10 years.

The Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator is a mission-centered professional who champions the visibility, vibrancy, and Catholic identity of the school. This position leads initiatives in branding, advertising, digital storytelling, and event coordination to strengthen enrollment, deepen family and parish engagement, and amplify the school’s presence in the broader community. In collaboration with school leadership, the coordinator will manage internal and external communications, oversee social media and promotional content, and execute outreach strategies that reflect the school’s values, vision, and voice. A key responsibility includes transitioning the legacy message of “Here, You Belong” into the new brand identity, “Come and See Yourself Grow,” ensuring all messaging reflects the mission of Catholic education and the school’s commitment to nurturing faith, learning, and belonging. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and deeply aligned with the school’s mission—able to inspire connection, communicate purpose, and represent the school with professionalism, enthusiasm, and heart.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing, Branding, and Advertising

Goal : To advance school visibility, enrollment growth, and mission alignment by executing clear, consistent, and compelling marketing and branding strategies across

digital and print platforms.

Measurement : Effectiveness will be measured by increased engagement metrics (social media interactions, website traffic), enrollment inquiries, timely production of

branded materials, and alignment of all communications with the school's Catholic identity and tagline.

Collaborate with administration to develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns that enhance enrollment, retention, and visibility. Maintain consistent brand identity across all digital and print communications. Design and produce promotional materials for school events, spirit wear, and community awareness campaigns. Create visually engaging print materials (e.g., flyers, banners, ads) that reflect the school’s Catholic identity and values. Promote school initiatives through parish bulletins, local publications, and digital platforms.

Social Media and Digital Communication

Goal : To strengthen the school’s digital presence and community connection by

producing high-quality, mission-driven content and ensuring consistent, responsive

engagement across all social media platforms.

Measurement : Success will be measured by growth in social media engagement metrics (followers, reach, interactions), improved response times to inquiries, and

alignment of content with school values, programs, and branding strategy.

Manage the school’s social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) by posting regular, mission-aligned content. Capture photos and create videos (including reels), and graphic content to showcase school events, student life, academic programs, Catholic identity, and

use in school communications and promotional materials.

Monitor analytics, engagement trends, and feedback to refine content strategy

and enhance brand performance.

Respond promptly and professionally to online comments and direct inquiries.

Graphic Design

Goal : To elevate the school’s brand and storytelling through high-quality, mission-aligned graphic design across digital and print platforms.

Measurement : Success will be measured by the consistent production of clear, branded visuals; positive feedback from leadership and stakeholders; and up-to-date,

visually cohesive digital platforms (including the school website).

Design digital and print materials using Canva or similar platforms to support school communications and events Work with school leadership to create branded templates, signage, presentations, and promotional materials for events. Contribute to visual and compelling storytelling by producing clean, creative, and mission-aligned graphics. Maintain the school’s website and update regularly, ensuring accurate content and consistent branding across digital platforms

Special Programs and Events

Goal : To strengthen school culture, family engagement, and community visibility by supporting the planning, coordination, and promotion of meaningful school events that

reflect Catholic values and celebrate the school’s diversity.

Measurement : Success will be measured by the successful execution of events (on-time, well-attended, and mission-aligned), the quality of event documentation for

communication purposes, and positive feedback from families, staff, and community

stakeholders.

Coordinate the planning and execution of school-wide events, including Open House, Catholic Schools Week, Wolf Pups, student showcases, service days,

and cultural celebrations.

Coordinate logistics: registration, set-up, signage, materials, and hospitality. Coordinate event logistics such as registration, setup, signage, materials preparation, and hospitality. Lead the visual and thematic design of key community events (e.g., Hispanic Heritage Month, Día de los Muertos, Black History Month, STEM Night) to foster

school-family-community connection and promote school spirit.

Administrative School Support

Goal : To contribute to a welcoming, organized, and mission-driven school environment by supporting school operations and administrative functions with professionalism,

efficiency, and care.

Measurement : Success will be measured by timely completion of tasks, positive feedback from families and staff, and evidence of proactive support for school culture,

communication, and daily operations.

Serve as a welcoming presence in the school office by greeting guests and assisting parents with questions and concerns. Assist the principal and staff with administrative tasks that support school operations, safety and supervision protocols, and culture-building efforts

Community Outreach

Goal : To expand the school’s reach and deepen community relationships by cultivating partnerships, representing the school at local events, and supporting volunteer and

outreach efforts that reflect the school’s mission.

Measurement : Success will be measured by the number and quality of external partnerships formed, visibility at community events, increased parent engagement, and

alignment of outreach initiatives with Catholic values and the school’s goals.

Build partnerships with early childhood centers, parishes, local businesses, and community organizations. Monitor analytics, track engagement trends, and feedback to refine content strategy and enhance community connections resulting in recruitment and

enrollment.

Coordinate the school’s presence at community events such as local festivals, farmers markets, parish Masses, and neighborhood fairs. Assist with organizing volunteer efforts and promoting opportunities for meaningful parent involvement. Promote student and school participation in service-learning and outreach initiatives that reflect Catholic social teaching.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Practicing Catholic or respectful of the Catholic faith and school mission Background in marketing, communications, education, or administrative support Proficiency in social media platforms, Google Workspace, and Canva (or similar design tools) Background in photography and basic video editing skills. Possess strong time-management and organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with discretion, efficiency, and accuracy. Possess strong interpersonal abilities, skilled in building positive relationships with families, faculty, and community partners. Possess excellent communication skills, in person, via phone, video conference, and written correspondence.

Physical And Other Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working on a computer. Must be able to move about the school campus to give tours, attend events, and meet with stakeholders. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., event supplies, materials). Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed for school events, open houses, and advancement functions. Use of appropriate and professional attire.
