Data Centre System Engineer

Job Responsibilities Validation & Monitoring Monitor VM Health & Performance: Ensure all VMs are running smoothly in the new Alternate hypervisor environment, including monitoring CPU, memory, disk usage, and network performance. Note: Candidate MUST possess VMWare experience with some OS maintenance experience. Troubleshooting and Incident Management Log support cases with vendors and follow up, including logs upload. Diagnose and resolve performance or compatibility issues post-migration. Handle migration failures and support critical incidents for rapid resolution. System Optimization and Tuning Optimize VM performance by working with DBS engineering to adjust configurations. Support resource allocation requests and perform regular maintenance tasks like performance and backup monitoring. Security and Compliance Management Review security configurations post-migration, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption. Ensure VMs meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Additional desirable skills include: Experience supporting virtualization platforms such as VMWare vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter; familiar with vMotion, DRS, HA, and VM snapshots. Knowledge of Guest OS Redhat and Windows servers. Understanding of network concepts in virtualized environments. Experience with VM migration and firmware patching. Proficiency in virtualization monitoring, troubleshooting, incident/problem, and change management. Support tasks include SDLC activities, deployment support for replacing 900+ ESXi hosts, operational support for production applications, ensuring application reliability, adhering to risk policies, and maintaining infrastructure.
