VP, Director of Business Development Company Overview Founded in 1986, ICON International provides clients with financial solutions built around the concept of corporate barter. We help businesses leverage their underperforming assets by trading those goods for high-value professional products/services. Position Description The Director of Business Development is a sales professional who is aggressive, persistent, entrepreneurial and has the ability to sell intangibles in a highly competitive environment to senior financial executives. The Director is responsible for finding leverage in Media time and budgets. This position is also responsible for purchasing excess products, real estate or financial products from Fortune 1000 companies, using ICON’s form of payment – Trade Credits. Your success depends on the ability to communicate the benefits and features of the issuance of Trade Credits and raising our potential client’s level of confidence that Trade Credits are worth more than their distressed assets. This individual MUST be able to sell to the highest levels of management. Responsibilities Responsible for setting and closing deals. As lead on your accounts, you will perform your own lead generations with mentorship of seasoned Managing Directors for 1-2 years. Prospect to senior financial contacts in key organizations. If a contract is signed with your lead, a $2,500 bonus will be awarded. Responsible for new business development from existing clientele and reaching out to potential new prospects. Capable of presenting to Fortune 1000 Executives for the purpose of purchasing non-performing assets with Trade Credits Communicate ICON’s business solution and offer present financial opportunities to resolve distressed inventory problems Communicate information about how prospects will use Trade Credits for planned and budgeted expenditures. Address how ICON makes money by demonstrating how we buy media better than advertising agencies. Explain the purpose of Trade Credits and how cash blends will work. Demonstrate ICON’s domain expertise of avoiding conflicts with prospect’s existing channels of distribution (remarketing). Qualify meetings generated by internal Lead Generation 20% or more of travel is required Skills and Qualifications Demonstrated success in Sales Knowledge of Barter and/or Trade Finance preferred Background in packaged goods or commodity trading Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Systems, specifically in Excel Bachelor's degree required Must have the legal right to work in the United States Additional Information This position is based in ICON’s corporate office.
