Job Description Executive Director of Lab Services On-site – Mountain View, CA Estimated total compensation: $375,000 – $435,000 USD per year Exact offer dependent on experience, education, and location. Boden Talent is proud to support our client—a global leader in innovation—in their search for a visionary Executive Director of Lab Services to oversee their global laboratory strategy and operations. This is a career-defining opportunity for a strategic and execution-focused leader to manage a large-scale, complex lab portfolio. From design and construction to maintenance, compliance, and user experience, you will shape world-class environments that support cutting-edge R&D and product development. Key Responsibilities : Strategic Leadership & Governance Lead the global strategy for lab planning, operations, and infrastructure aligned with the company's growth roadmap. Build and inspire a high-performing team across lab operations, capital projects, planning, workplace experience, and technical services. Implement robust governance, performance metrics, and risk management strategies. Design, Construction & Capital Projects Oversee lab facility design and construction, focusing on flexibility, compliance, and future-proofing. Manage renovations and infrastructure upgrades across regions. Oversee project schedules and budgets for capital and TI projects. Operations, Infrastructure & Maintenance Ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure, including MEP systems, HVAC, gases, utilities, and clean power. Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime. Champion continuous improvement in technical lab environments. Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) Oversee MAC planning and execution—equipment relocations, space modifications, and occupancy changes. Collaborate with lab teams to minimize disruption and ensure scientific alignment. Develop MAC standards, playbooks, and workflows. Lab Planning & Space Forecasting Align lab space strategy with evolving R&D and product pipelines. Use data and analytics to optimize lab utilization and support investment decisions. Lab Experience, EH&S & Compliance Promote a safe, efficient, and seamless lab environment. Ensure compliance with EH&S, HSSE, and regulatory policies. Standardize lab operations with best-in-class SOPs. Qualifications : 15+ years leading lab facility operations in tech, life sciences, or semiconductor sectors. Proven expertise in lab systems (HVAC, clean rooms, DI/RO water, gases, electrical). Experience managing large-scale lab construction, relocations, and reconfigurations. Strong budgeting, vendor management, and capital planning skills. Familiarity with CMMS, smart buildings, and planning tools is a plus. Executive leadership experience with cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Background : Professional Engineer (PE) license. Master’s degree or MBA. Strong stakeholder management and execution skills. Passionate about enabling innovation through excellent facilities.
