Responsibilities
Patient Care and Preparation:
Patient Positioning:
Accurately positioning patients for CT scans to capture the specific area of interest. Patient Education:
Explaining the procedure to patients, answering questions, and addressing concerns about the scan. Contrast Administration:
Administering intravenous contrast agents as required for enhanced imaging, following established protocols. Monitoring Patients:
Observing patients during the scan, ensuring their comfort and safety, and monitoring vital signs. Emergency Response:
Assisting in emergency situations during scanning, if necessary. Maintaining Patient Records:
Accurately documenting all procedures and updating patient records. Technical Responsibilities:
Operating CT Equipment:
Proficiently operating the CT scanner and related equipment to acquire high-quality images. Image Review and Analysis:
Evaluating images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards. Equipment Maintenance:
Performing routine checks and maintenance on the CT scanner to ensure its proper functioning. Quality Control:
Participating in quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of the equipment. Radiation Safety:
Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize patient and staff exposure. Collaboration and Communication:
Radiologist Collaboration:
Working closely with radiologists to interpret images and report findings. Communication:
Effectively communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team. Record Keeping:
Ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures and results. Staying Updated:
Continuously learning about new technologies and advancements in CT imaging. Requirements
Must have an active NY State License Must have experience as an CAT Scan Technologist Benefits
