Responsibilities
Patient Care and Preparation:
- Patient Positioning: Accurately positioning patients for CT scans to capture the specific area of interest.
- Patient Education: Explaining the procedure to patients, answering questions, and addressing concerns about the scan.
- Contrast Administration: Administering intravenous contrast agents as required for enhanced imaging, following established protocols.
- Monitoring Patients: Observing patients during the scan, ensuring their comfort and safety, and monitoring vital signs.
- Emergency Response: Assisting in emergency situations during scanning, if necessary.
- Maintaining Patient Records: Accurately documenting all procedures and updating patient records.
- Operating CT Equipment:
Proficiently operating the CT scanner and related equipment to acquire high-quality images. - Image Review and Analysis:
Evaluating images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards. - Equipment Maintenance:
Performing routine checks and maintenance on the CT scanner to ensure its proper functioning. - Quality Control:
Participating in quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of the equipment. - Radiation Safety:
Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize patient and staff exposure.
- Radiologist Collaboration: Working closely with radiologists to interpret images and report findings.
- Communication: Effectively communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Record Keeping: Ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures and results.
- Staying Updated: Continuously learning about new technologies and advancements in CT imaging.
- Must have an active NY State License
- Must have experience as an CAT Scan Technologist
- The salary for this position is$50 - $55 / hr
- This is a Full-time or a Part-time position
