The

Cath Lab Technician

is responsible for assisting in cardiac catheterization procedures, operating specialized imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role involves working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:

Procedure Assistance & Patient Care:

Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Assist cardiologists during angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety throughout the procedure. Administer contrast media under the supervision of a physician. Provide post-procedure care instructions and assist in patient recovery monitoring. Operate and maintain catheterization lab equipment, including fluoroscopy machines and hemodynamic monitoring systems. Ensure proper calibration, sterilization, and functionality of cath lab instruments. Assist in troubleshooting technical issues with imaging and diagnostic equipment. Documentation & Quality Control:

Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment usage, and patient data. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures. Participate in quality assurance programs to enhance patient care standards. Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and radiologic technologists to ensure seamless workflow. Stay updated on advancements in cardiac procedures and imaging technology. Participate in training programs, workshops, and hospital meetings. Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Diploma in Cardiac Technology, Radiology, or a related field. Certification as a Cath Lab Technician (preferred). Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a Cath Lab or cardiac care setting. Proficiency in operating cath lab equipment and assisting in cardiac procedures. Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control protocols.
