This role involves operating manual mills, lathes, and a variety of shop equipment to produce accurate parts made from steel, aluminum, and plastics. The ideal candidate thrives in a production environment and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency, accuracy, and quality control.Key Responsibilities:Interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T drawings to plan machining work.Set up and operate manual mills and lathes, adjusting tools and attachments as needed.Use equipment such as drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic presses.Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other tools.Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate equipment repairs.Manage inventory of materials and tools; anticipate needs and track usage.Required Skills & Experience:3+ years of machining experienceProficiency with manual mills and lathesStrong blueprint and technical drawing interpretationUnderstanding of intermediate math (geometry, trigonometry)Experience with quality control processes such as First Article and PPAPEffective communication and organizational skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active roleDetail-oriented with solid tool management knowledgePreferred Qualifications:Experience in sheet metal manufacturingCNC machining or G-code programming/editingFamiliarity with ISO 9001 standardsSupply chain and inventory control experienceProcess improvement skillsEquipment Used:Bridgeport Model 1J Vertical Milling MachineLeBlond Model Regal Engine Lathe (20" x 60")Hardinge Model DSM-59 Second Operation Lathe
