Vertical Lathe Set up Operator: On behalf of our manufacturing client, Procom is searching for a Vertical Lathe Set up Operator for a permanent role. This position is an onsite position at our client's Hudson, Wisconsin office. Vertical Lathe Set up Operator - Job Description: The Vertical Lathe Set up Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating vertical multi-axis lathes to perform various machining operations. This role focuses on ensuring the precision and quality of parts produced, while maintaining an efficient workflow. Vertical Lathe Set up Operator - Responsibilities: •Set up and operate vertical multi-axis lathes for machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading •Review blueprints, job breakdown sheets, and QC documents to determine machine settings and specifications •Select and install tooling or preset tooling as defined on job breakdown sheets •Mount workpieces manually or using a hoist •Observe numerical displays and compare to process sheets to verify adjustments •Adjust and direct coolant flow against tooling and workpieces •Inspect first run pieces and spot check succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications •Organize materials for the next run to shorten changeover time •Set tools using precision gauges and instruments •Operate another machine tool during machining cycles if required •Perform preventive maintenance and maintain cleanliness of the work area •Complete "Daily Operator Checklist" at the beginning of each shift Vertical Lathe Set up Operator - Mandatory Skills: •Stable work history with a focus on attendance and punctuality •Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn •Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills •Two to five years' experience with Gear Cutting, Hobb, and Lathe equipment in a manufacturing environment •Strong problem-solving skills •Effective communication skills •Teamwork-oriented Vertical Lathe Set up Operator - Nice-to-Have Skills: •Experience with preventive maintenance procedures •Familiarity with QC documentation processes •Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently •Experience in a similar manufacturing environment •Accessibility to work on 2nd and 3rd shifts Vertical Lathe Set up Operator - Assignment Length: This is a permanent position.
