Job Description Summary

The Lead CMM Programmer will demonstrate leadership in supporting the plant's CMM measurement needs, including program revision control. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve CMM problems, develop and execute program objectives, and manage CMM program schedules.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) programs and calibrations to support manufacturing efforts for GE Aviation Wilmington.
  • Plan and specify CMM purchases necessary to meet drawing and specification requirements.
  • Manage CMM calibration responsibilities, including programming, calibration, measurement audit support, and program revision control.
  • Coordinate activities around program schedules, calibration, audit support, and software quality assurance.
  • Ensure measurement accuracy of all CMM measurement systems.
  • Conduct training in CMM inspection and programming as needed.
  • Act as the plant's expert and interface regarding CMM measurements.
  • Implement processes to collect and distribute information to improve quality.
  • Administer the plant's CMMs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as ISO.
  • Read and interpret drawings and quality control requirements using GD&T and metrology principles.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed in compliance with regulations.
  • Work with the Quality team to improve inspection processes.
  • Drive lean manufacturing efforts focusing on quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of engineering or quality experience) plus 3 years of CMM programming experience including MODUS and PCDMIS, with experience in editing and controlling CMM program revisions for aviation hardware.
