GENERAL SUMMARY:Responsible for maintaining key performance metrics such as safety, quality, and delivery. Will weld to AWS specs spot weld, operate a variety of tools and equipment. Tools will include prints, bills, ARI, engineering/supervisor direction.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate weld equipment as directed by supervisor.Perform all position and types of welding including certified.Report labor and job data accurately.Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.Maintain clean and neat work area.Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.WORKING CONDITIONS:Regularly exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, vibration, electricity and heights. Typically requires the use of welders, hand tools, hoists, cranes, saws, all air tools, grinders, die grinders, orbiters, drill presses, roller press. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles, welding helmet and gloves are required.This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and competencies required of this position. Equivalent of one year acceptable welding experience, one year of technical college, Company welding course, or equivalent training. Must have held "B" Welder position for 75 days minimum. Must have passed welder certification test and have stamp.WORK EXPERIENCE:Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Equivalent of one year acceptable welding experience preferred or satisfactorily completing the Company welding course and successfully pass test when tested.
