The Driver loads, delivers, and transports products to East Coast Metal Distributors' customers in a safe, professional, and expeditious manner. The Driver provides support to warehouse operations as needed.

  • Safely drives a company vehicle to make timely pick ups and deliveries.
  • Loads and unloads products for delivery
  • Provides exceptional customer service to customers
  • Must be capable of operating mobile applications relevant to logistics and delivery operation
  • Completes all assigned training before deadlines.
  • Verifies items with proper initialing and dating and notifies manager of any discrepancies before leaving place of delivery.
  • Represents East Coast Metal Distributors by wearing clean, company provided uniforms.
  • May operate a forklift to move materials and unload vehicles.
  • May assist in performing general building maintenance to ensure warehouse is organized, clean, and safe.
  • Maintains organized, clean and safe delivery vehicle.
  • Notifies Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager of any needed service, repairs, or unsafe conditions.
  • Completes daily driver log and returns fuel receipts and other reports to manager daily.
  • Participates in organizing delivery schedules.
  • Assists in processing sales orders when needed.
  • Observes all safety and company rules and regulations in the Driver Safety manual.
  • Completes any other duties assigned by the Branch or Warehouse Manager
  • Possess a clean driving record:
    • No more than one moving violation* in any one-year period, or more than two moving violations in the most recent three years
    • No more than one preventable accident in any two-year period during the most recent three years
    • No restrictions, suspensions, or DUI convictions in the past three years
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide superior service
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by the Branch Operations Manager.
