Pay Information $2,076 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment. License: Current active compact license or applicable state license required. Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience. Candidates must have current supervisory references. Candidates must provide proof of required certifications at the time of submission. Candidates must pass clinical review. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care including eye care and vitamin K injections. Candidates must have experience circulating and providing newborn assessments. Candidates must have high-risk experience. Candidates must be able to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments. Candidates must float to postpartum and antepartum as needed. Candidates must work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Candidates must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC. Description: Perm candidates from any facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. The unit has high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery experiences. The average daily census is 15, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. The department features four operating rooms. Candidates will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and will continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates will provide support for midwifery clients, private obstetricians, and adult recovery services. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Staffing follows established guidelines. Specialized patient care practices will be followed for antenatal and postnatal care. Candidates are required to assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries. Candidates must be knowledgeable in administering medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate therapy. Candidates should have skills in areas including amnioinfusion, breastfeeding support, and pain assessment and management. This role will involve performing assessments and necessary interventions for both mother and newborn patients.
