The position requires working three 12-hour shifts per week. The average daily census is 140 patients, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest. Candidates must have 4-5 years of experience in the ER. Weekends are required every other weekend. Candidates must float within the unit and specialty as needed. On-call duties are not required. Must be comfortable with a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Emergency Procedures and skills required in the role include abdominal pain, acute psychosis, arterial line management, blood product administration, burns, central line care/management, chest tube insertion/management, and more. Additional skills include interpretation of ABGs, dysrhythmias, intubation, IV management, and triage. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. This role's environment will require adaptability and commitment to patient care excellence.
