The Mount Vernon Developmental Center is a long-standing, state-certified residential care facility serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Located on a tranquil, nature-rich campus on the outskirts of Mount Vernon, the center offers comprehensive services including healthcare, vocational training, and social and recreational opportunities. What you will do as a Residential Care Supervisor: The Residential Care Supervisor (RCS) provides leadership and operational oversight for assigned living areas within the center, ensuring safe, person-centered care that meets agency, Medicaid, and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include: Supervises Therapeutic Program Workers and direct-care staff, providing role modeling, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Oversees daily operations for assigned units and provides coverage for other units when needed. Maintains staffing schedules, approves leave requests, assigns overtime and relief staff, and ensures adequate coverage for operational needs. Conducts and documents investigations into work-related injuries, illnesses, policy violations, and unusual incidents; ensures compliance with Medicaid standards and agency policies. Trains, orients, and mentors staff; ensures implementation of Person-Centered Plans, behavioral interventions, and active treatment programs. Coordinates daily communications among supervisors, directors, and other departments; ensures timely reporting of Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs). Oversees unit budgets, purchases, and inventory; manages maintenance requests and environmental safety checks. Serves as Appointed Authority Designee during non-business hours and provides direct care when needed.
