Nutrition Assistant I

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is currently seeking a Nutrition Assistant I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a food service setting and possess a strong work ethic. The Nutrition Assistant I will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities include: Using all equipment correctly and safely: disposal dish machine and steam hose. Following standardized recipes: proper serving size, ingredients garnish. Coordinating and prioritizing daily tasks to reduce non-essential interruptions to an absolute minimum. Setting up and working efficiently on the tray line as scheduled at the assigned station. Placing items on trays accurately according to the patient menu spreadsheet and plating guide. Knowing basic food preparation techniques, including receiving, storage, preparation, handling, and utilization of leftovers. Completing cleaning tasks as assigned and maintaining a neat and clean workstation. Utilizing stock and foods in proper order according to freshness dates on the product. Storing supplies and food in an appropriate manner. Accepting other duties as assigned. Qualifications include: High School or GED required. Must have a minimum of six (6) months of recent Food and Nutrition experience in a hospital or related setting. Fire Safety card required within 90 days of hire.
