Senior Accountant
Motrex LLC is an exclusive service provider to Stryten Energy, a $1 billion leader in stored electrical energy solutions, including batteries and associated equipment and services for the transportation and industrial markets. We have over 3,000 employees working at manufacturing sites throughout the country. Our corporate headquarters is located just north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA. This position requires on-site daily presence, with no remote work allowed. The Senior Accountant position will assist in the reconciliation process and the month-end financial closing process to facilitate accurate and timely reporting of financial results. This position works closely with treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, project managers, plant controllers, and the accounting team. Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Perform general ledger activities including monthly closing tasks and preparation of monthly supporting schedules Prepare monthly B/S account reconciliations Maintain asset records in the fixed asset system, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, cost and depreciation adjustments, and miscellaneous updates. Extract, analyze and organize large amounts of data for reconciliations Research and follow up on reconciling items found during reconciliation process Perform financial transactions consistent with accounting policies and GAAP Work on special projects and prepare ad hoc reports using JDE or Essbase as needed Assists in special projects and KPMG audit requests Proactively identifies and communicates general ledger and accounting related issues Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals. Qualifications Education, Experience, Certifications Bachelor's degree in accounting required 5+ years accounting experience required Month-end close experience Fixed Assets experience JD Edwards and Hyperion experience preferred Competencies, Skills, Knowledge Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills Strong analytical skills Accuracy in work product Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically excel) Ability to work independently and with teams Understands the basics of GAAP accounting Environment & Physical Demands This position requires you to be on site at our Alpharetta, GA headquarters office.
