The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant Professor of Practice in Kinesiology position to begin September 1, 2026. The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management offers a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Kinesiology for over 1,400 undergraduate and 40 graduate students, respectively. The department enrolls over 400 undergraduate students in the B.S. in Sport Management and over 50 master's degree students in the M.S. in Sport Management. It also offers a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. Its building includes six classrooms, a student computer lab, and faculty offices. At Texas Tech University, the Professor of Practice title is used to recruit individuals with exceptional backgrounds and achievements in academic, business, government, or other professional practice. Primary responsibilities normally will be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program. In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service. As a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management, you will be expected to: Contribute to the teaching mission of the department. Provide service to the department, college, and university. Texas Tech University Minimum of master's degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or a closely related field. A minimum of two years of undergraduate online teaching experience delivering kinesiology courses within the 36-credit degree completion program or equivalent coursework. Demonstrated interest to develop and teach at least five courses within the 36-credit degree completion program. An earned doctoral degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, or closely related field. Three or more years teaching four or more online undergraduate kinesiology courses aligned with the 36-hour degree completion program courses.
