The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University (TTU) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2026. Established in 1923, Texas Tech University is a Carnegie R1 (very high research activity) Doctoral/Research-Extensive, Hispanic Serving, and state-assisted institution. Located on a beautiful 1,850-acre campus in Lubbock, a city in West Texas with a growing metropolitan-area population of over 300,000, the university enrolls over 40,000 students with 33,000 undergraduate and 7,000 graduate students. The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management offers a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Kinesiology for over 1,400 undergraduate and 40 graduate students, respectively. The department enrolls over 400 undergraduate students in the B.S. in Sport Management and over 50 master's degree students in the M.S. in Sport Management. It also offers a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. Its building includes six classrooms, a student computer lab, and faculty offices. Major/Essential Functions

As a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management, you will be expected to: Contribute to the teaching mission of the department. Mentor graduate students. Texas Tech University Faculty Qualifications An earned (no later than August 31, 2026) doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related field. Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related field for at least one semester, which could be as a graduate student as the instructor of record. Expertise in one or more areas of kinesiology with a preference for motor behavior, motor control, or motor learning (or a closely related area) as evidenced by a record of peer-reviewed research. Demonstrated ability to seek and apply for external research funding. Preferred Qualifications Experience in developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in motor behavior, motor control, motor learning, or closely related topics. Experience developing and teaching online courses in motor behavior, motor control, motor learning, or closely related topics.
