Scenic Technical Manager
Our client, a luxury event company, is looking for a full time Scenic Technical Manager to join their team starting as soon as identified. In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be able to work onsite in Manhattan five days per week as well as onsite at event spaces as needed. As the Scenic Technical Manager, you will be leading the scenic design aspects of the company's events. The Scenic Technical Manager will have technical expertise, strong creative vision, and strong project management skills to deliver beautiful events for their clients. The Scenic Technical Manager will be responsible for: managing technical planning, vendor coordination, and on site execution overseeing the development of scenic concepts, builds, logistics, and labor management maintaining vendor relationships, managing vendor sourcing, and optimizing resources collaborating with the design team on the creative direction and execution of scenic visions developing scenic plans, budgets and timelines coordinating with other departments as needed to ensure cohesive execution of events conducting site visits and preparing technical assessments to address venue specific requirements and constraints leading and supporting scenic builders as needed overseeing the on-site execution of all scenic elements, ensuring flawless setup and operation throughout events and addressing any issues promptly and efficiently streamlining warehouse workflows and optimizing the use of materials and tools Requirements: 5+ years in scenic design, technical production, or event management proven track record of managing large-scale event builds and installations strong knowledge of scenic construction methods, materials, and tools familiarity with site operations including HVAC, generators, tenting, and rigging ability to interpret and execute creative visions as well as collaborating with a design team skilled in sourcing and managing scenic vendors and contractors strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to troubleshoot quickly Benefits: Medical Insurance Coverage (No Dental) Provider: Oxford Freedom through United Healthcare. Eligibility: 1st of the month following 3 months of employment as a Full-Time Employee, or Full-Time Equivalent Employee. Employer Contribution: 50% of Low Plan, bi-weekly (2x a month max) Commuter Benefits This is a program where employees can elect to withhold money from their pay-check pre-tax to be used for commuter expenses. Accrual Rate: PTO is accrued throughout the year and is pro-rated when applicable. 1st Year - Accrual rate = 10 PTO days/Year At 2nd Year Anniversary - Accrual Rate increases 12 PTO days/year After 3rd Year - Accrual Rate increases to 19 PTO days/year Wait Time: Although accrual begins immediately, you may not use PTO until you hit your 6-month anniversary date.
