Scenic Estimator

The Scenic Estimator is responsible for analyzing design and technical drawings to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for scenic fabrication, installation, and related services. This role serves as a critical bridge between the creative and production teamstranslating artistic concepts into practical budgets and labor projections. The Scenic Estimator plays a key role in the bidding process and overall project planning in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment. This is a full time salaried position. Key Responsibilities: Interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents to produce detailed and accurate estimates. Break down scenic elements into rental assets, materials, labor hours, and subcontractor requirements. Collaborate closely with the Estimation Manager, sales team, designers, project managers, and clients to understand project scope and feasibility. Research material costs, production methods, and vendor/subcontractor quotes. Prepare cost breakdowns, value-engineering options, and alternate pricing scenarios. Maintain a comprehensive cost database and historical project records for reference and benchmarking. Support smooth hand-off of projects from estimating to production, ensuring clarity around scope, budget, and expectations. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kickoff sessions as needed. Track changes in scope during the bid phase and adjust estimates accordingly.
