Technology Product Owner (TPO), Global Medical Affairs
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is currently recruiting for a Technology Product Owner (TPO), Global Medical Affairs within the Medical Affairs Technology Product Group. This position's primary location is Titusville, New Jersey or Raritan, New Jersey. The Manager, Technology Product Owner, will be responsible for a portfolio of capabilities and products focused on Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Management, events management, and congresses management for the Medical Affairs function. The person in this role will serve as a strategic and technical leader for the development, enhancement, and governance of the in-scope portfolio, and in doing so, they will partner closely with Business Owners from the GCSO GMAF organization to ensure alignment and clarity in business cases and needs. The TPO will be able to translate business needs into tangible technology products and advancements and will own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery of technical solutions that enable effective KOL engagements, insights generation, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: Product Ownership & Strategy:
Work closely with Business Product Owner to establish the products' business value. Define and evolve the product vision and OKRs for KOL Management platforms and tools. Translate business needs into prioritized user stories and technical features. Align product strategy with GCSO GMAF objectives and regional medical affairs priorities. Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison between GMAF, regional medical teams, and technology squads. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure product relevance and adoption. Technical Delivery & Governance:
Shape and prioritize backlog, utilizing business expertise and understanding of customer needs, translate requirements into user stories & acceptance criteria. Balance business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing stories and features, optimizing cost and improving delivery efficiency. Ensure the products/features/work meets relevant security, privacy & compliance standards. Facilitate release planning, sprint planning and demos with stakeholders. Manage risk, tech debt, and architectural integration in partnership with engineering leads and Solutions Architecture team. Manage 3rd party vendors to ensure quality, compliance, on-time delivery and within budget deliverables. Performance & Value Realization:
Monitor KPIs related to KOL engagement, platform usage, and business impact. Drive reporting and analytics to provide visibility on squad performance and monitor sprint metrics and user results. Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops and data-driven insights. Support change management and training efforts across global teams. Leadership Skills:
Focused on business agility, agile delivery with a fail-fast approach, and the ability to drive measurable outcomes. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional self-organized teams. Contributes ideas that challenge thinking. Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating expertise with a proven ability to evaluate issues critically and implement solutions that drive results. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in Life Sciences. Familiarity with Medical Affairs and/or Commercial Life Sciences business processes in the areas of KOL engagement, management, or congress and events planning is a big plus. End-to-end product experience is a must, including understanding and demonstrated ability to implement and execute, manage and measure product performance through its lifecycle. Experience launching digital products in regulated settings, including GxP compliance, collaboration with Technology Quality teams, and following SDLC processes. Leadership capabilities and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to effectively assimilate and communicate complex information from multiple sources. Skilled in identifying project issues, leading resolution efforts, and ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities within the team for seamless collaboration and project execution. Proven ability to collaborate and effectively engage with individuals across various levels and functions within an organization. Strong relationship and communication skills, excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and influence without formal authority as needed. Preferred Skills: Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Working knowledge of the Commercial Life Sciences business and/or Medical Affairs function. Knowledge of JNJ's HPT and JJT frameworks and governance models.
