Inventory Control Supervisor
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate warehouse inventory, conducting audits, and resolving discrepancies. This position also supervises a team of five hourly staff, ensuring efficient inventory management and operational processes. This position supervises five hourly staff members. Essential Job Functions: Auditing (25%) Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory levels meet customer demand and adjust stock as needed. Perform physical inventory audits to ensure products match inventory records. Check inventory items for expiration and handle outdated products according to established procedures. Use material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) to move palletized goods and ensure efficient access to inventory items. Building Layout and Planning (15%) Collaborate with site management to optimize warehouse layout for improved productivity and high service levels. Develop and implement strategies for inventory consolidation and replenishment. Recordkeeping (20%) Maintain manual inventory records or use scanners to update inventory levels. Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accuracy. Variance Identification and Adjustment (25%) Investigate and identify the causes of inventory discrepancies. Notify the manager of discrepancies or defective products promptly. Resolve inventory discrepancies by ordering or returning products and facilitating internal transfers. Work with customer service and operations teams to provide necessary inventory information. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to support business growth. Supervision (15%) Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate performance of inventory control staff. Assign and prioritize tasks and projects for subordinates. Manage time tracking and attendance for assigned staff. Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as necessary, following company policy. Model and enforce safe work practices.
