Program Manager, Medical Education

The Program Manager for Medical Education will lead and manage a key component of our medical education program- the case-based collaborative learning (CBCL)- with a focus on curriculum delivery, faculty/staff/student engagement and support. This role ensures the smooth execution and delivery of over 170 active learning sessions annually, while also supporting policy development and continuous program improvement. The Program Manager will serve as the main liaison between faculty, students, staff, and leadership and will play a critical role in the day-to-day operation of the CBCL program. Program Oversight, Curriculum Development, and Student Assessment: Design and oversee faculty recruitment, scheduling, and retention strategies to ensure high-quality instruction for case-based collaborative learning (CBCL), problem-based learning (PBL), and other small-group learning activities. Establish faculty training programs for CBCL and PBL facilitators, ensuring instructional excellence and consistency. Oversee faculty assignment logistics, troubleshoot session-related challenges, and implement solutions to maintain operational efficiency. Monitor and manage faculty participation in CBCL and PBL activities, providing regular reports to Assistant Deans and leadership for performance tracking and improvement. Serve as a primary liaison with the Office of Student Affairs to oversee student attendance tracking and ensure compliance with curriculum policies. Oversee the integration of faculty and student data into institutional software systems (SharePoint, OASIS) and maintain robust data management systems for student learning and faculty evaluations. Direct the creation, organization, and distribution of instructional materials to students, faculty, and staff for over 120 CBCL and 48 PBL sessions annually. Supervise the administration of student examinations, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and academic integrity standards. Provide leadership in policy development and implementation for Phase 1 learning sessions, particularly regarding attendance and engagement expectations. Student Support and Issue Resolution: Act as a key resource for students, providing strategic guidance and solutions for curriculum-related challenges such as scheduling conflicts and access to learning materials. Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine policies that enhance the student learning experience and promote academic success. Faculty Support and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead faculty support initiatives by identifying and resolving curriculum-related challenges, ensuring smooth coordination between instructors, block directors, and leadership. Develop and implement communication strategies to strengthen collaboration among students, faculty, block directors, and Assistant Deans. Manage stakeholder relationships by serving as the primary contact for medical education program needs, ensuring alignment between educational objectives and faculty expectations. Assist faculty in the curriculum to map their learning objectives to the graduation competencies for the didactics in the curriculum. Provide high-level administrative and operational support to faculty and leadership, ensuring seamless program execution and continuous improvement. Program Leadership and Continuous Improvement: Oversee programmatic initiatives to optimize medical education delivery, working closely with faculty and leadership to align educational practices with institutional priorities. Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by leadership, contributing to the overall advancement of medical education programming. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Five years' experience in an academic environment. One year experience of project/administrative management experience. Employee Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Rate Type: Salary Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above. Pay Range: $58,656.00 - $86,000.00 Minimum $58,656.00 Midpoint $72,328.00 Maximum $86,000.00
