Diagnostic Technologist
Purpose: Are you passionate about advancing healthcare through diagnostic technology? As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll play a crucial role in patient care, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to provide accurate and timely diagnoses. Join our team where your expertise can make a real difference in improving patient outcomes and shaping the future of medical diagnostics. Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols and sound judgment in applying ionizing radiation. Communicates clearly with patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation. Ensures accurate documentation by coding exams in the RIS system, networking images to ISITE, and entering appropriate charges. Operates complex imaging equipment for image acquisition, analysis, and documentation in accordance with protocol. Adapts to various clinical areas and maintains workflow flexibility to meet departmental and enterprise-wide staffing needs. Collaborates effectively with team members, physicians, and patients to deliver efficient, high-quality care. Administers oral and rectal contrast as per physician orders and departmental policies. Demonstrates professionalism and empathy, showing respect and care in all patient and coworker interactions. Follows safety protocols, including proper patient identification and adherence to universal procedures during exams. Supports learning and development, serving as a resource for new hires and students while continuously expanding personal skills. Shifts: The position will work rotating days, holidays, weekends, and shifts. The expected schedule is Sunday-Saturday, with 8 hours shifts (7a-3p, 7:30a-3:30p, 8a-4p, 12p-8p, 2p-10p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a. Maybe be pulled to other days/shifts depending on hospital needs. Education: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. When rotating between two or more specialties, must hold registry in each specialty. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. CT experience is preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT certified in Radiography with a secondary Imaging Registry required. Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in all as required by hiring Business Unit.
NOTE: Diagnostic Tech's who rotate between Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology are required to have their primary registry in Radiology only and maintain competency in Interventional Radiology.
Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership. Must provide flexibility to work least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
