We are seeking an associate and Investment Banker to join our Global Institutional Business in USA. The successful candidate will mainly support the Public Sector team in Latam in managing and expanding relationships with FIG clients, including sovereigns, state-owned enterprises, multilateral agencies, and banks across the LATAM region. Previous experience in working in a Multilateral is a plus. The role requires a deep understanding of the unique financial needs of public institutions, as well as a strong ability to deliver tailored banking solutions. Key Responsibilities
Business Development Identify new business opportunities within the LATAM public sector by understanding client needs and offering customized solutions across corporate banking products (e.g., loans, treasury services, trade finance, capital markets, debt issuance). Client Interaction Design pitchbooks and assist in the structuring of transactions. Regular contact with clients. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams, including Credit Risk, Treasury, Legal, and Capital Markets, to structure transactions and manage the credit approval process. Collaborate with product teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions. Market Analysis Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay informed of economic trends, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors impacting the LATAM public sector. Be able to provide new ideas to pitch to clients based on this market research. Risk Management Help in the elaboration of risk reports to present it to Management. Leadership and Mentoring Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Precious experience working in a Multilateral is a plus 3 years of corporate banking experience, with a focus on the public sector, and/or LATAM markets. Proven track record of working with sovereign and quasi-sovereign entities. Strong understanding of financial markets, public sector financing needs, and regulatory environments in Latin America. Experience in structuring and executing complex transactions, including project finance, syndicated loans, and capital markets offerings. Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus. Other Requirements: Ability to travel frequently across the LATAM region. A client-centric approach, with a focus on delivering value-added solutions to public sector clients.
