Federal Ussgl Senior Consultant
Kearney & Company is currently seeking a Federal USSGL Senior Consultant to join our team! The Senior Consultant will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply them to client situations, as well as identify and effectively communicate accounting matters to leadership. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below: Support client audit readiness efforts in accordance with GAAP and FASAB Draft accounting research papers, standard operating procedures, and USSGL Tools Implement technical solutions to improve financial management activities Work with clients to identify financial control issues and gaps Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products Lead all research, analysis and communication regarding accounting treatment / posting logic Maintaining relationships and communicating with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functions Mentor and coach junior staff Assist in proposal development, as requested Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Technology/Systems, Business, Finance or another Business-related field Minimum of 6 years of accounting, financial statement audit, audit remediation, and/or financial management experience In-depth knowledge of the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) and United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
including proprietary and budgetary account definitions and tie-point relationships and crosswalks to relevant financial statements, footnotes and reports Knowledge of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Boards (FASAB) Standards Ability to serve as a project manager and lead/interact with clients, including the development of project strategies, project plans/execution oversight, and manage a team Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government's financial and management responsibilities Consulting experience in any of the following areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, and/or financial system integrations, etc. Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint Ability to obtain and maintain agency suitability (Public Trust) Preferred: Active Public Trust (or higher) security clearance Active DHS clearance and/or expertise Familiarity with Oracle/SAP/Momentum financial systems Familiarity with Federal financial system modernization, data quality/data cleansing/data standardization efforts Familiarity with Federal financial reporting requirements CPA, CGFM or other relevant certification
