About The Role
As Special Assistant to the Office of Investment (OOI), you'll be a force multiplierexpanding AV's capacity across deal sourcing, portfolio management, and operational excellence. You'll work closely with senior investors, the OOI leadership team, and cross-functional partners, operating as part of a high-trust, high-performance inner circle. This role offers rare exposure to venture investment decision-making, fund operations, and strategic initiatives that shape the firm's portfolio and future. Your scope will be broad, your learning curve steep, and your impact immediate. What You'll Do
Investment Support & Strategic Execution Conduct detailed analysis to support AV's investment decision making Identify opportunities to improve AV's investment operations by leveraging AI & technology Work with investment teams across AV to establish operational best-practices across the investing & portfolio management functions AI-Driven & Data-Enhanced Investment Operations Leverage AI to improve operational efficiency of our deal execution and portfolio monitoring functions, reducing manual work across the organization Work closely with OOI peers, the Analytics team, and the Engineering team to turn operational improvements into detailed technical specifications Accelerate process development through leveraging AI Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination Work collaboratively with other functions within AV to identify areas of improved coordination / operational excellence / efficiency Research & Communication Conduct rapid-turn market scans, sector deep dives, and competitor analyses. Write clear, concise summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and discretion in all communications. Who You Are
Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills. Comfort with Gen-AI tools (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and a habit of learning by building. In-depth knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets, with Python coding experience a plus. Familiarity with Hubspot or other CRM systems also beneficial Exceptional writing skills and ability to distill complex investment insights for varied audiences. Absolute discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive investment information. Willingness to be based in Manchester, NH daily.
