About The Role

Alumni Ventures (AV) is pioneering the use of AI Pods — compact, high-velocity teams where an executive, cutting-edge technology, and an AI-native operator collaborate to produce outsized results. As Special Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you’ll be a force multiplier—expanding the CFO’s capacity across strategic finance, capital planning, and operational execution. You’ll work side by side with the CFO, senior finance leaders, and cross-functional partners, operating as part of a high-trust, high-performance inner circle.

This role offers rare exposure to high-level financial decision-making, capital allocation strategies, investor relations, and operational initiatives that shape the company’s trajectory. Your scope will be wide, your learning curve steep, and your impact immediate.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Finance Support & Execution

Shadow the CFO in key meetings, board interactions, and investor discussions. Draft memos, synthesize financial insights, and track action items through completion. Support strategic planning, budgeting cycles, and performance tracking.

AI-Driven & Data-Enabled Amplification

Use Gen-AI tools and custom GPTs to streamline financial workflows. Prototype intelligent dashboards, reporting automations, and decision-support tools. Partner with the CFO to scope, plan, and execute AI-driven and tech-enabled process improvements within Finance operations.

Project Management & Operations

Work closely with Finance team members to map workflows, surface bottlenecks, and develop solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy. Manage the implementation of selected projects, coordinating with internal engineering resources or third-party vendors as needed.

Research & Communication

Conduct targeted internal research on operational workflows, emerging AI tools, and relevant technologies to support CFO-led initiatives. Prepare concise briefing materials, status updates, and executive-ready summaries for internal stakeholders, board members, and other audiences addressed by the CFO. Draft and refine written communications, presentations, and visuals that translate complex operational and financial topics into clear, actionable insights.
