Reporting to Manager - Meter Services Location: Lewiston or Fairfield, ME Work Type: Office The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $95,000 to 118,000 Summary: Responsible for the hiring, supervision, training and directing of Meter Technicians. Maintains up-to-date proficiency in all aspects of electric metering, including current technologies and revenue protection investigation procedures; safety standards and administers continual field training to facilitate development of meter personnel and ensure the safest and highest level of customer satisfaction. Coordinates the installation and maintenance and testing of complex revenue, system and system interconnection metering, and AMI metering systems in accordance with company, regulatory and industry standards while adhering to approved policies, procedures, safety rules, and budgets. Develops working relationships with Line Supervisors, Distribution Field Engineers, Meter Engineers, ESA's, AMI team, Settlement Group, Electrical Engineers, and Electrical Contractors, State and Local Electrical inspectors to resolve electric service issues. Actively participates in all aspects of the company safety program including behavior-based safety observations in the field to ensure adherence to CMP safety rules/policies as well as OSHA and NERC CIP compliance. Key Duties: Plans, schedules, assigns and directs work of Meter Technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation of daily field activities to meet standards of excellence and avoid service guarantee payments. Provide information to customers, electrical contractors, engineers and architects in order that electrical installations may be connected to CMP's system in a safe and uniform manner. Ensures adherence to Distribution and Substation Construction Standards and OSHA 19610.269 Maintenance Standards for the safe installation and maintenance of AMI Revenue and System metering. Plans and coordinates the efficient completion of Site Analysis including MPUC and OP18 regulated testing of Telemetering and non-telemetering installations to insure the accuracy of measurement devices. Works closely with IUSA metering groups for best practices and standardization of methods. Responsible for hiring and developing employees to enhance personal and professional value to the corporation and community. Coordinates safety training and inspections including documentation and accident investigations. Trains, evaluates, and documents employee performance in theoretical and practical application of metering systems. Provides leadership and technical support to other workgroups in IUSA regarding SOPs, Meter Skills Training, NEC, CMP's Handbook of Requirements & Construction standards. Works closely with Meter Engineer for the development of Standards, Metering Equipment, and pre-engineering of complex metering locations. Attends IAEI and SEA local meetings to continue education and develop positive relationships with State and Local inspectors as well as Electrical Contractors. Researches and resolves customer issues. Works with Manager to develop and monitor the budget and inventory levels in area of responsibility and assists with restoration efforts during storm and other emergencies by maintaining ARCOS, dispatch employees to work areas assigned by storm coordinator, fill assessor and/or patroller role for effected service center, and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR Associates Degree in related field with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience required. Supervisory experience in Meter Reader Collector, FSR, Meter Technician or Customer Service recommended. Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), CMP construction standards. Master Electricians license is preferred. Experience with electric utilities, metering and devices.
