Regional Operations & HR Manager
The Regional Operations & HR Manager is charged with ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the KIPP Baltimore Region. Through the management of Human Resources, AR/AP, regional operations support, and administrative support to the Executive Director, Chief Academic Officer, and Chief of Staff, the Regional Operations & HR Manager plays a critical role in supporting school teams and regional leaders to execute on the mission and vision of KIPP Baltimore. The Regional Operations & HR Manager reports to the Chief of Staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Regional Operations & HR Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Human Resources/Payroll: Enter, manage and maintain accurate and up to date employee information and database. Review employee time punch edits to ensure accuracy. Run bi-weekly payroll for KIPP Baltimore operator employees. Provide assistance with problem troubleshooting and resolves employee pay discrepancies. Manage benefits for all KIPP Baltimore operator employees. Coordinate the onboarding process for all KIPP Baltimore employees. Generate in-house referrals through original and innovative referral programs. Manage other day to day HR operations. Provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on employee issues. Serves as the primary liaison with Baltimore City Schools for HR related matters. Finance: Accounts Receivable: Responsible for full cycle Accounts Receivable function. Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries. Accounts Payable: Manage the A/P system to ensure timely approvals and accurate GL accounting coding. Mail/Distribute signed checks. Assists with reconciling vendor statements. Assists with the credit card process. Manage the employee expense report system. Maintains financial records in accordance with document retention policies. Insurance: Manage all regional and school based insurance needs. Liaise with insurance company and maintain files. Request, send and maintain copies of Certificates of Insurance. Administrative Support: Support the Executive Director, Chief Academic Officer, and Chief of Staff. Supports the administration of the Board of Directors. Supports compliance with federal and state grants. Supports compliance with Baltimore City Public Schools charter school operator requirements. Coordinates logistics for organization-wide events. Manages office operations. Serve as a backup to the Director of Campus Operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Serve as a full-time and engaged member of KIPP Baltimore's staff. Proactively identify areas for improved efficiency. Manage large projects that require coordination and delegation. Prepare reports, presentations, and documents. Coordinate staff meals, room setup, and other needs during events. Qualifications include: A passion for the mission of KIPP Baltimore. A Bachelor's degree required. Knowledge of and experience with an HRIS preferred. Experience running payroll preferred. At least five years of office and/or operations experience. Strong project management skills. Outstanding organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment. Excellent communication skills. Communicates well with others and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates a relentless drive to improve the efficiency of organizational systems. Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Demonstrated belief that no job is too big or too small. Displays maturity and ability to work independently as well as with a team. Exercises discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information. A healthy measure of the character traits we value. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
